Sacsayhuamán (26 April 2006)

We walked to Sacsayhuamán from Qenko (about half an hour) and were immediately impressed with the size of the ruins. Here is Emma and I in front of some Inca stonework.

And Lorena was impressed too (and tired).

The Incas had worked some enormous rocks into the structures. Some of 300 tonnes - here are two examples.

The Incas envisioned Cuzco in the shape of a Puma and the jagged walls of Sacsayhuamán form the teeth.

This site was well worth the visit. From here we walked about an hour back to our hotel in Cuzco.
